A significant part of this exciting and thrilling film was shot in the sunny city of Odessa whereby some of the most beautiful historical buildings in the city centre as well as attractive nature landscapes were involved as locations for the shooting process. The Odessites readily took part in the movie shooting process while acting as extras.
Nicol Raidman
2019
The widely renowned Israeli singer Nicol Raidman has the video clip to her new song "ניקול ראידמן - אישה קטנה עם כוח" shot in Odessa. The role of the young Nicol was played by a talented young Odessian girl. The audience filling the auditorium of the Odessa National Opera and Ballet Theatre completely consisted of Odessian extras.
Heroes and Cowards
2018
The tightly-plotted film was partially shot in a famous Ukrainian attraction – the ancient fortress of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi (former Akkerman). This magnificent place had already served as a location for shooting such well-known domestic adventurous movies as “Admiral Ushakov”, “The ships attack bastilles”, “Otello” and many others. Thus, the Akkerman Fortress is one of the best and most attractive locations in the Odessa region. The shooting process of “Heroes and Cowards” involved participation of more than 100 extras from Odessa and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi. A lot of the film crew members were also Odessites.
Donbass
2018
The widely-known, talented film director Serhiy Loznitsia has chosen the city of Kryvyi Rih to shoot his award-winning movie “Donbass”. More than 1,500 inhabitants of Kryvyi Rih have participated in the shooting process as extras having been carefully selected for their roles within a half-year period.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War
2015
The video elements for a computer game named "Middle-earth: Shadow of War" - one of the creations by the famous world-leading film studio "Warner Brothers" were shot in the Akkerman Fortress of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi whereby about 300 local extras were involved.
